Be part of the launch of the Step to Safety initiative in Alexandria—the first stop of a nationwide community movement that brings together sport, culture, and community for a meaningful cause.
Enjoy a scenic 5K run along Alexandria’s iconic Corniche, interactive games, fun challenges, family-friendly activities, cultural experiences at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, prizes, and commemorative gifts.
Together, we’ll take a stand against human trafficking by promoting safer choices, stronger communities, and hope—because Every Step Makes a Difference.
Race Day - Friday, July 31st
4:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Kits Pickup
5:45 PM: Warm-Up and Final Announcements. Runners head to the Start Line
6:00 PM: 7K Race start
7:00 PM: 2K Kids Run start
8:00 PM: Awards Ceremony
9:00 PM - 10:00 AM: Party
The Porto Obstacles Run is open to participants of all fitness levels who are ready to take on the challenge. The minimum age requirement is 12 years for the 7K race, while the 2K Kids Run is designed for participants under the age of 12. Participant age will be determined based on the year of birth.
The Porto Obstacles Run will be organized in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the Race Organizer. All participants in the 7K race will be timed using the MyLaps Timing System to ensure accurate results and fair competition. Water stations, refreshments, and medical support will be available throughout the event to ensure a safe and enjoyable race experience.
Due to the obstacle nature of the event and the operational schedule, participants are expected to complete the course within the designated event timeframe. Final results will be published online and categorized by overall ranking, age group, and gender, with top finishers recognized during the awards ceremony.
Every participant who successfully completes the Porto Obstacles Run 7K or 2K Kids Run will receive a finisher's medal. The 7K race will be accurately timed using the MyLaps Timing System, with results published online in overall, age group, and gender categories. The top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top athletes in each age group, will be recognized during the awards ceremony and receive their respective awards and prizes.
The 2K Kids Run is a non-competitive fun run and will not be officially timed.
